Directed by Mehdi Kamranirad, Iranian short ‘Varahram’ has been accepted to vie at the 2019 Kids International Film Festival (KIFF) in Hong Kong.
Some 1800 films from 100 countries have requested to compete at the festival, but only 20 were accepted.
The Iranian film tells the story of a little girl whose mother does not allow her to play with other children in their alley. Even when going out, her mother locks her in the house.
The KIFF, founded in 2017, aims to bring international films to children and teenagers in Hong Kong to enrich cultural learning and inspire young minds.
The third edition of the festival is slated for August 6 to September 1, 2019.
